Our Sacramental Program is
• Family Based
• Parish Coordinated by our Sacramental Team
• School supported by our Parish schools:- St Brigid Gwynneville and Good Samaritan Fairy Meadow.

We recognise that parents are the first educators of children in the faith and traditions of the Catholic Church. This promise is made by parents at the Baptism of each of their children. The parish assists parents to raise their children in the faith of the Catholic Church, which is the faith of their Baptism. Our schools provide valuable support and assistance in this endeavour.
In our Pastoral Region children receive the Sacraments at an age appropriate to their understanding:
Children in Year 3 receive Reconciliation and Eucharist; children in Year 6 receive Confirmation.

Baptism is the first Sacrament; it is the foundation of our Catholic-Christian lives. A person must have been Baptised into the Catholic Community – or formally received into the Church – before any other sacraments are received. Baptism certificates for children baptised outside the Pastoral Region are required.

 

Organisation Of The Program
Each of the three Sacraments has five sessions. The two Adult Faith Formation Sessions for parents coincide with the first two of the children's sessions.
Three weekend sessions will either precede the 6pm Vigil Mass or follow one of the Sunday morning Masses.
Attendance for both the children and parents at all sessions is compulsory. The Church requires adequate preparation for the reception of the Sacraments.
A fee is charged which covers the administration costs of the program and the issuing of certificates and medals.
