The Light of Christ
In the Catholic Parishes of Wollongong the three parish communities of Saint Francis Xavier, Wollongong, Saint John Vianney Fairy Meadow/Balgownie and Saint Brigid, Gwynneville are both drawn to and shine out the Light of Christ. Three parishes shining the light of Christ within and beyond the City of Wollongong!
Our saintly patrons - the Mother of Sorrows, Saint Francis Xavier, Saint John Vianney and Saint Brigid - continue to shine forth the light of Christ in our city nestled between the Illawarra Escarpment and the ocean: The Mother of Sorrows who bore the Eternal Light and knew His sufferings, Saint Francis Xavier who brought the Light to new lands, Saint John Vianney who enlightened his parishioners in his priestly ministry, and Saint Brigid who shone with the wisdom of Christ in early Christian Ireland!
As members of the Catholic Parishes of Wollongong we were entrusted with the light of Christ at Baptism. We now walk as children of the Light. We are a vibrant community shining with the Light of Christ!
